Working Weekend

I am so thankful this was a rainy weekend. I used this opportunity to clean up some loose ends so that I could get down to the business of making jewelry. I still have a long way to go. I was able to get a cohesive look to my media outlets. Then, I was able to list quite a few items in the etsy shop. Last but not least, I transferred all of my contacts into my new mail list provider. By the way, if you are not on the e-list, please stop by Uzuri Designs and sign up. You will receive updates,

Doing Something New

I have been beading for 5 years now and I have tried to dabble outside of the confines of that medium for a while now. Trying new techniques and hoping to add some dimension to my skill set.
I have to say that I was never satisfied with those techniques. Honestly, they just took to long for me to gain proficiency and I lost interest. Maybe it just wasnt for me.

I have been drooling over something called Precious Metal Clay for about 3 years and yet I was a little intimidated at first. Well I did it!! I finally completed my first Metal Clay piece.

This first picture on the left is the piece after I fired it. I was a little impatient and got a little crazy with the pattern and I forgot to refine it before I torched it.

The second picture is a pair of earrings I made with the pieces. It's not without it's flaws but certainly not bad for a first try.
